Troop 508 Newsletter 3/28/2018

This Week in Troop 508

 

News

A Scout is Thrifty…  Camp Card time!  Pay your way to summer camp by selling camp cards.

Each card is $10, $5 goes directly into your scout account.  You are entered into a drawing for every 25 cards you sell (let Mrs. Roman know when you have sold 25 cards)

For available Booth Sale times please contact Mrs. Roman @ or sign up at the next troop meeting

 

Backpacking Trip 4/14-15 @ Cross Timbers Trail;

Cost $20 includes pizza on the way back (does not include trail food for each participant)

depart Woodhaven 6AM Sat, arrive back at Woodhaven 6PM Sun

This is a great opportunity to challenge yourself.

June 10 – 16; Cost is $265 per scout not including gas fee

Sign-up at the next troop meeting!

 

A Scout is Courteous…  The troop has been doing a great job with this so keep up the good work!  The church is appreciative!  Please bring a water bottle to meetings.  Woodhaven has asked us not to use their cups.  We need to be respectful of the church as a whole, this includes the kitchen area and the ice maker.

Sales Booth times: 3/24 Dick’s 5pm-9pm.  Sign up at the next troop meeting or contact Mrs. Roman @

Help needed!  6:00pm 3/27; Woodhaven has asked the Troop to pass out fliers to their surrounding neighborhood promoting their (3/31) Easter egg hunt.

Arrive 1hr before the troop meeting to put fliers on door knobs.

Earn an hour of service while helping out our chartered organization!

Troop Elections – next troop meeting, 3/27:  Elect your next SPL & Patrol Leaders

For Scouts who are interested in a position of responsibility, there will be cards to put your name on and anything you would like to say about why you want that position.  This is a great opportunity to take a leadership role in the troop!

Medieval Campout this weekend 3/23 – 25 @ Camp Constantin; Cost $20

Meet at Woodhaven Friday 6pm, Arrive back at Woodhaven Sunday noon

Church Work Day has been postponed to a later to be determined date.

 

Emmanuel’s Eagle Scout Project – Sunday 3/18 10:00am(cook & pack) and 2:00pm(distribute)

Help cook and pack-up burgers & hot dogs at 10:00am at CAC Vineyard of Grace 2217 W Jefferson St. Grand Prairie

Help distribute the packed food at 2:00pm at Dallas County Hospital 5201 Harry Hines Blvd Dallas.  Come out and help if you are able to!

Troop Court of Honor is 3/20.  Bi-annual formal event where family and friends are encouraged to attend and support the scouts. Scouts be in full uniform (mb sash, neckerchief)

 

Troop Elections are 3/27 – Scouts will elect a Senior Patrol Leader and the Patrol Leaders.

Emmanuel’s Eagle Scout Project – Sunday 3/18 2:00pm

Come out and help feed the hungry, help cook burgers.  Chance to earn service hours.
