Troop 508 Summer Fishing Photo Contest – Now through 8/31; prize for best photo

“Fishing Photo” can be a lot of different things: photo of your big catch, great sunset from the lake where you’re fishing, funny pic of a family member who fell asleep in their chair while fishing, etc.

Over the summer take pics whenever you go fishing and email them to along with a short 50 words or so write up on the photo.  You can enter up to 5 photos over the summer.

Ropes Course / Zipline Sunday 8/13 1:00pm – 5:00pm @ Trinity Forest Adventure Park

Cost $45 per scout, families are welcome to participate price varies depending on age

Troop Elections are coming soon – Scouts will elect a Senior Patrol Leader and Patrol Leaders.

For Scouts who are interested in a position of responsibility, there will be cards to put your name on and anything you would like to say about yourself.  This is a great opportunity to take a leadership role in the troop!

 

A Scout is Courteous…  Please bring a water bottle to meetings.  Woodhaven has asked us not to use their cups.  We need to be respectful of the church as a whole, this includes the kitchen area and the ice maker.

 

Scoutmaster Mr. Bolton will be at Woodhaven from 6:30 to 7:00 before each meeting to sign books, have conferences, etc.

Summer Camp 2017 Camp Alexander Lake George, Colorado 7/8 – 7/16

Meet at Woodhaven 9:30am Saturday, depart at 11am

Bring a sack lunch, any remaining forms, and $45 food money for 6 meals while traveling (3 meals to, 3 meals back) if you haven’t already paid

Fishing/Swimming & Swim Test Campout @ Camp Wisdom 6/16-17 with 18th being optional; Cost $10 for campout plus $5 for swim test – $15 total

Meet at Woodhaven @ 6pm Friday to leave at 7pm, back by 11am on Sunday.

Camp 1 night or 2.  Bring fishing gear.

The swim test will be Sat 17^th 9:00am to noon

This test will classify scouts according to their swimming ability; required for summer camp

Next Troop Meeting 6/20 – We are having troop physicals.  A yearly physical is required to attend summer camp.  This is a service that is being generously offered by some of the MD’s that are involved in the troop.
