Give Back to Woodhaven Work Day – this Saturday 5/12 9am-noon

Let’s show Woodhaven that we appreciate our chartered organization!  We will be working on the church grounds clearing out some areas and doing some weeding. Both adults and youth are encouraged to come out and help. Dress for outdoor work, bring a water bottle, and bring gardening tools (bring a weed eater if you have one).

The troop will provide pizza for lunch. Earn service hours!

WHAT IS A SWIM CHECK?

All youth and adult participants are classified as swimmers, beginners, or non-swimmers based on swimming ability confirmed by the BSA swim checks.  This classification is required for participation at summer camp and troop activities involving water.

SWIMMER: Jump feet first into water over the head in depth. Level off and swim 75 yards in a strong manner using one or more of the following strokes: sidestroke, breaststroke, trudgen, or crawl; then swim 25 yards using an easy resting backstroke. The 100 yards must be completed in one swim without stops and must include at least one sharp turn. After completing the swim, rest by floating.

BEGINNER: Jump feet first into water over the head in depth, level off, and swim 25 feet on the surface. Stop, turn sharply, resume swimming, and return to the starting place.

NONSWIMMER: is anyone who has not passed the beginner or swimmer tests
