News

Woodhaven is going to start doing renovations to the education building sometime in September and we will be sharing the Hancock Hall with the Girl Troop 510.

We have a Court of Honor coming up in September. Trying to nail down a confirmed date for that (either the 7th or 14th). But we do have a cut off date for advancement turn in on August 31.

Mr. Murphy went online and checked out our Council camps to see availability and the only weekend that is open is September 10-12 and Constantin, James Ray and TRJ are all open that weekend, we just need to choose one. There is a survey for our Scouts to choose, see below. That weekend is also the OA Fall Fellowship, so not everyone will be able to go on the troop campout, which is ok. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/P9R75TR

October, we have planned that we were going to do our Beach campout. If this is something the troop is still interested in, we need to start making plans asap.

November, Mr. Murphy wants to have a shooting weekend. The only available camp that has all three shooting elements is at TRJ on November 19-21. If this is something that the troop is interested in, we need to secure this ASAP and I will work on getting some trained individuals to help run these ranges. We do have to pay for ammo and the ranges, so the cost will go up but it will be lots of fun.

 

 

Continue wearing masks at meetings while inside and maintain some sort of social distance especially with the rising cases of the new strand of Covid.

 

 

 

Popcorn sells are starting fast and furious with a huge emphasis on online selling. Mrs. Peacock will be heading up popcorn this year and will have more information.

Bird’s Fort Trail Evening 2 Mile Hike – Saturday 8/14 @ 8pm, 5756 Riverside Dr. Irving We will be leading some local Cub Scouts on a fun evening hike. Bring bug spray, headlamp, and water. Join us if you can!

Logan Eagle Project Work Day – This Saturday is the last work day for my Eagle Scout project. We will be laying down the bricks and adding the final layer of sand. I found outside resources to do all of the digging necessary. The hours would be 8-12, and we will provide pizza for lunch. If another work day is needed afterwards then I will figure out what day to do it.
