Bret Bolton was a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout in Grand Prairie, TX.
He has been a scouter since 2010. He has served as a Den Leader, committee member (Outdoor Chair), Asst Cubmaster, Cubmaster, and Committee Chairman of Pack 771 in Irving, TX where he was awarded the Five Trails Star Award. He is was an Asst Scoutmaster of Troop 508 for 3 years where he was awarded the Five Trails Star Award. Bret became Scoutmaster in 2017. Like most leaders of Troop 508 he is a Merit Badge Counselor.
Bret maintains a fully trained status for his position, and has expanded on that training with Wood Badge, and others.
Bret is a leave No Trace Trainer, a BSA Certified Angling Instructor, and a Philmont Training Center Ambassador. He currently assists on BSA’s National Fishing Taskforce.
One of the things he is most proud of as a scouting volunteer is the hiking program he put together for Cub Scouts at pack 771. This program has now been picked up and brought to other cub scout packs across the area.
Outside of Scouting Bret can be found either angling, or taking pictures (or both) and spending time hiking and camping with his family.
