A Scout is Helpful….  Help serve a hot meal to those in need, Many Helping Hands, tomorrow, Thursday 5/19 6pm @ FUMC 211 W 3rd St Irving

This is also an opportunity to earn service hours

 

Flag Ceremony practice session – next troop meeting @ 6pm; all patrol leaders please attend

 

Casting Contest! – next troop meeting 5/22- bring your rod and reel

 

ILST – Intro to Youth Leadership Skills for Troops, Sunday 5/22 1-4pm @ Running Bear Park 2601 S Story Rd Irving

This will teach all scouts with leadership positions about their new roles and how to most effectively reach success in that role.  All scouts holding a leadership position need to attend.  Wear t-shirt under your uniform; bring a notebook and pen/pencil

Recipes from Webelos cooking day

These 2 recipes are great for camping.

 

“Easy Camp Vegetable Soup”

1/2 onion chopped

4 oz vegetable broth

1 can of stewed tomatoes

1 can green beans – drained

1 can of carrots – drained

1 can of dice potatoes – drained

1 can corn – drained

1 tablespoon cooking oil

salt and pepper

————————

Salute the onion in the oil in pan (or dutch oven) until clear

then add the broth,

followed by all your cans.

and cook for 30 minutes

salt and pepper to taste.

“Basecamp Biscuit Bites”

open a can of biscuits and tear the biscuits into 3rds

put the biscuit pieces on a stick or hot-dog cooker and cook over coals

bread will slide off cleanly when done

Swamp Base Swim Check – 5/7 10:30am @ Camp Wisdom

Required for everyone attending Swamp Base; please practice beforehand

Scouts who are going to Summer Camp can also test but will have other opportunities to test. Please arrive about 10:15am to give yourself time to get ready as the troop must be ready to enter the water at 10:30.

Hiking MB 10 mile hike 5/7 @ Mike Lewis Park Grand Prairie beginning @ 2pm

location: 2410 N Carrier Pkwy Grand Prairie 75050; same location as the February hike

Meet @ Mike Lewis Park @ pavilions located at the parking lot off Roy Orr Blvd.

There is more than one parking lot so make sure you pull into the right one
